This has become one of our favorite crock pot meals. The kids absolutely love it.

4 to 6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 (16 ounce) package frozen French-style green beans, slightly thawed
2 (10 1/2 ounce) cans cream of celery soup
1 (6 ounce) can French-fried onions

Put half of chicken thighs in bottom of crockpot and cover with 1/2 of the green beans. Spoon 1 can cream of celery soup over all and 1/2 cup of the onions. Top with remaining chicken breasts, beans, the second can of soup and another 1/2 cup onions, reserving remaining onions. Cook on LOW for 6 to 8 hours, then top with remaining French-fried onions. Continue cooking on HIGH for 15 minutes

Thanks so much for sharing this great sounding recipe!! Lately we've eaten enough chicken that I'm beginning to grow pin feathers! I'll just bet you that this recipe would be terrific with pork chops, too! YUM~!!

On the ingredents list you say skinless chicken breasts... In the preparation of this recipe you say , quote " put half the chicken thighs in the bottom of the pot". Are you using both breasts and thighs...

The recipe came from my grandmother who used thighs. We changed it to breasts and I missed where it said thigh. Its all personal preference. If you like thighs then use them. Thighs are smaller so you can use more, I am guessing 6-8.

This sounds wonderful, I'm gonna give this a try next week (gotta buy the ingredients).

I got laid off 6 months ago and just started a new 90 day temp job this week. I bought a new programmable crock pot that I haven't used the program feature in yet (didn't need to, since I was at home all day).

My new job has me leaving the house at 5:10 AM and not getting home until 3:45 PM. This recipe ought to work well in my new crock pot. I'll set it all up in the morning and let it cook for 8 hours and then program it to switch to warm. Then I will add the rest of the French's onions for 15 minutes, per the recipe and when we are ready to eat.

I think I will also fix a package of that new rice that comes in a pouch you heat for 90 seconds and serve. Perfect for two people. Love it and they have some good flavored rice packs too.

Oh yum, this sounds sooo good. I think I'll try it with cream of mushroom soup, or maybe one of each. Thanks

I was surprised-the cream of celery soup is plenty rich, didn't need the mushroom soup at all! I did toss in a few shrooms as a garnish, just because I love em ;-)
