If you are financing that trailer and the warranty, remember that the cost of the warranty will be much more than $1400 because you will be paying interest on that $1400 over the term of the loan. It adds up to be a pretty expensive warranty.

I NEVER buy ext./warr.on anything, but I figured 1200.00 for 7 years, thats less than 200.00 a year,if in 7 years after my free first year from the manufacture I need a furnace or air or any major repair will be 1000.00,so I went for it being it wasn't that expensive and everything on these new trailers is big bucks to repair and ,this is my first of three trailers with a slideout (12')piece of mind I guess,I can fix all the small stuff myself.

I got the extended on my Jayco I have 2 year bumper to bumper or toungue. And for 1100 I got an additional 5 years. If the furnace or fridge goes it will be worth it in my opinion.

This was our thought too. We got basically the same warranty on ours. To us it made sense for the reasons you listed above.

We too purchased the extended warrenty and we like it because they will come to where your camper is and you don't have to take it to them to repair. We had them come to our home and fix our HWH and they charge $25. deductable which was much less than the price of gas plus the loss of work to take it to them. It is also good when you have it set up seasonal or are traveling and need a repair. I have heard you can negotiate the price with the dealers. It would be worth a try since they have a lot of room to discount and still make a good profit.

We just purchased a Forest River Grey Wolf and got the 7 year warranty for $700. It covers darn near everything in the trailer. Since I financed for 5 years I figure having that warranty should cover me until we sell. If we sell before the 7 years is up, it can be transfered to the new owner. Anyway...$1400 seems very excessive!!

Good Luck
