I have a question along these lines. I was told by some one that the reason for the outrageous price of diesel was because the manufacturers are sending a large portion to Europe where they can get even higher prices for it. Can anyone out there verify this?

I think it is the other way around. Europe uses all the diesel they refine as it has been promoted as more efficient for many years. They send gasoline to the USA that keeps gas prices relatively lower on the east coast. I would however be curious how much diesel fuel per day gets used in those warships. Some might be nucaler (Bush spelling) powered but many are not.

I run about 70 towing and will probably continue. And we can do and say all we want about fuels, but in the last couple of days here in Central PA, some of the biggest fueling stations around Central PA you have to wait to pump. You know why? Folks are sliding the credit card. If they had to reach in the pocket and pull out cash or check, you wouldn't see the pumps full like in the late 70s and 80s. Credit cards are running the country or keeping it running. Don't' get me wrong, I use, but pay at the end of the month and I have two specifically for the coach to track costs. It is really bull**** that diesel fuel is gone up so much, and truck move the country, and diesel cost less to refine. But then again, there will be someone telling me I don't have a clue. After the election, which we have nothing to choose from it will be all up hill. But IMHO the next 18 months will be news media gloom and disperse. Probably for the first time in 30 plus year I will exersise my right to not vote. It will depend on the running mate. But probably won't. The news is on now and I'm here with you guys.

At least somebody is trying to do something. The government sure isn't.

I agree with Don Don. Being in law enforcement, I can't wait to see what I-95 is going to look like tomorrow morning.

As someone mentioned. the four wheelers will get angry. Dang, let 'em, can't they see that all of us must join the truckers. For the life of me, I cant see how or why people want to get out and drive 90 mph knowing they are burning fuel at the rate they are. I wonder how deep their pockets really are.

I was talking to some truckers on the way back from Florida, the independents are going broke, they cannot continue to raise surcharges, companies only allow so much on surcharges. A Peterbuildt dealer in my area just got back 15 trucks last month, said they are not making any money and can't afford to pay for them, they gave em back to the dealer, that had to be a banks nitemare. I hope all the truckers park em for one week, I'll join em and not take the motorhomes out for a month.

Today congress is interviewing the big oil companies for making too much profit. Who makes the most on fuel and never even produces one drop of fuel, the government, drop the fuel tax and stop the spending. Now we got a idiot representative that wants to charge a green tax of .50 cents a gallon, and he's out of Michigan, can't believe they don't tar an feather him. The same one's that interviewed the oil companies are the same one who will not allow us to drill in Alaska and the Gulf of Mexico, can't allow more refinery's,but they use their private jets. Until we get rid of the do-gooders in Washington and take the oil and fuel off the commodity market we are fried in this country.

What I don't understand is why haven't we lowered the speed limit to 60mph on freeways, interstates. Why don't the stores, offices, business's turn lights off when closed at night. Did anyone ever hear of light sensors in this counrty. People wakeup we can make small changes without changing our lives to cavemen.

Am I still going drive my motorhome, you bet I will, just not as much. I'm sure I still will be way down on the ladder as far as using fuel compared to Gore or Kennedy. Hopefully it won't get so expensive for us to operate our motorhomes because of stupid politicians. We worked all our lives to enjoy doing our Rving and now if things don't change we won't be able to do that either. This is really p:::::: me off.

The head guy for Shell said today that the problem was that we drive too much, going to have to stop driving as much as we do.
