Looking for a good flag pole and mount. I have looked at Polesandholders dot com and they have a good price on the 16 and 22 telescopic fiberglass poles but was curious about the holders. How stable are the holders that mount on the ladder? In the pictures it looks like they have the holder mounted towards the top of the ladder and the pole sitting in it so that the full lenght of the pole sticks above the holder. Is the pole secured into the holder some way or does it just sit down in there? I am just worried that with higher winds and 2-3 flags up top the pole would come out or the holder would break.

I do not care to place our flag on the rear of the coach while parked Generally we are camped in areas that the back of the coach is into trees. I prefer to have ours on the front. I have not designed a mount yet for our coach. I had one made of aluminum and placed on the king-pin of our 5th wheels. Really looked good and everyone can see as the walking or driving through the camp ground

I built my own mount for the pole. I took 2" white pvc cut to 2 ft, put an end cap with a hole drilled for drainage, and mounted it on the ladder frame with two hose clamps. I found that if I mounted low on the ladder, the flag pole would bang against the coach in a strong wind.

I have the poles&holders mount on my ladder. I also have one You can drive on with your tire. I put it under the stabilizer foot of the 5er. I also have one you drive into the ground, they all work great. The one I mounted on the ladder used to be on the ramp door on my last TH. The only problem I have had is sometimes the telescoping flag pole telescopes in when you don't want it too. I have 2 3'x5' flags on the 22' pole so that could be the problem.

I made a similiar holder with the 2 inch PVC pipe but I mounted it to the TT tongue close to the propane tanks. I used two metal straps used to secure metal conduit. Basically drilled two small holes per strap and used self taping screws.

I have the 22foot fiberglass telescoping pole and ladder mount holder. They both work great. Once in a while the telescoping will drop down, but the mount works fine. The pole just sits in the holder by about 2 feet, cant come out on its own, snug fit.I got my pole, holder, flag and pole light from richardsonsrv, they also sell on ebay. The holder is made real well and dont think the winds would effect it being attached to the ladder at all.

OK - I'm a little different!! I too want to display my flag at the front of the rig! So... off to Home Depot! I look around and then the light comes on!! 2 lengths of PVC electrical conduit, three sets of male & female couplers, one cap, two eye bolts of appropriate length to reach thru the PVC, two 'clevis' attachments and I'm ready to go!! (I have the PVC Glue at home.) SO...cut each length in 1/2, glue Male & Female couplers & cap as appropriate to get them together - drill holes for the eyebolts & install them, and that's it!! I now have a 4 section flag pole (or 3 if it's windy). Install the beautiful flag, raise, tie the pole to the bumper and the front wiper mount with nylon cord (or sometimes the side mirror and the drivers door step) and it's 'JAKE'!
Total cost - about (as I recall) about $15. Go for it!!!

The thing stows easily since it does come apart into sections - use teflon spray on the joints or it's the devil to unscrew after some time in the wind!!

Here's my pole mount. I've used it dozens of times with no problems. High winds too with my 29' telescopic pole and a full length banner. It attaches to the ladder with two turnbuckles. The mount can be put on and taken off in about a minute and cost about $10 to make. It stows away easily and doesn't mar or damage the ladder.

How do you have the turnbuckles attached to the pvc? Is it just metal pipe clamps?
