I just replaced my D rated original Duro's after a blowout with 75/225/R 15 E rated Maxxis. Only had them on for 2 weeks. But I feel much better with the E rating. Unfortunately I had to upgrade to 80 PSI rims as well.
Our trailer needed an alignment and ate 2 tires last year, must be all that boondocking.
Maxxis ST 215/75R14, $57.72 each and I mount & balanced them at a friends shop.
I'm not sure I would buy a tire that cost any less than these did.
that is a good price... I know no one pays list, but that tire list for $110 by Maxxis...
mine list for $128 LRD and $150 LRE... with out pulling the receipt I paid roughly $125 for the tire... mounting balancing and new high pressure stems were included in the price...
your tire at $57 has the same quality as one that was paid at list, so I wouldn't use price as my guide...
I don't remember prices quoted to me, but I could have had Carlisle for much less... I don't want to start that argument PLEASE... but I am not afraid to run them and have run them for many thousands of miles...
on my next tire purchase, I just may use you as my agent...

are you sure you had to upgrade the rims... if they were the six bolt steel rims they should of been rated to 75 PSI...
at that pressure with the LRE you should have been good on the margin...
maybe not all rims are the same, and I had a heck of a time getting any information on rim pressure ratings... but one of the wheel suppliers I talked to some time ago told me that... and sure enough the stickers in mine say 75 PSI...
I'm sure you do feel much better and you should...

$68 per tire.
I need to get mine aligned soon, I think I bent something because when I bought the trailer the tires showed no signs of abnormal wear and the tires wore fine the first year.
Now I tow with a 2-wd instead of a 4-wd so that might just save a little wear and tear on the old trailer. It used to amaze my wife and I where we took and parked our trailer.

I'm not 100% sure I needed to upgrade my rims. The were rated for 75psi. I am sure My loaded trailer is very heavy and I want the max payload available on my tires. In order to run at max payload I feel you need max air pressure. Therefore my 75psi rated rims were 5 psi short for my 80psi load range E tires. Does 5 psi truly make a difference? Probably not but I want all the capacity margin I can have. Now the real issue is how do I know for sure my new rims are truly 80 psi rated and not 75 psi rated like my old rims? Truth is I don't know for sure, but I specifically requested 80 psi rims to match tires. Southern Holiday RV in Manning, SC assured me that my rims were 80 PSI rated. So let's say I trusted the dealer!! How many times have I seen others make that mistake
I'm looking at Maxxis as well to replace my 3 year old 205/75-14 Transmasters. The best I've found online is $75/tire with free shipping. Anyone had better luck finding them online? None of my local tire stores carry them.

Might check with Discount Tire for Maxxis. They ordered ST205/75R15's in for me for $88 (plus tax for governor so he can go to Hawaii) mounted and balanced with new metal valve stems.
