Jlawless, if stopping in Grand Prairie the Rotary RV park is decent. Last night was good & we were able to 'steal' WIFI from ?????? at our site #17. If pushing the extra few hours to Dawson Creek, Mile 0 CG is good with WIFI included. Here tonight. Next stop, Ft Nelson. You may catch up with us. Hope you enjoyed the snow. This was us a couple weeks ago in MN

We made it to Palmer and are at the Town and Country Campground. Wifi available free.

We will be here two days. I have 3.5 weeks of laundry to do. The other 0.5 we did in Shelby.

We will head down to Soldotna or Ninilchik on Sat AM.

Safe travels everyone.

Please leave the snow behind.

Klm,

I don't remember the diesel prices. Sorry. I missed your post. I do know that at one point it was about $1 more per L

Hi!

My wife and I are in Whitefish, MT and hope to cross the border on Route 93 on Sunday....and then on to Radium Hot Springs, Banff, Jasper and Route 40...and eventually to Grande Prairie and Dawson Creek and Alaska.

From what I just on rv.net, some of you just went on Route 40....and hit a lot of snow. Has it changed? Should we consider a different route....or just enjoy Route 40 very slowly?

And for how long would they have closed the road, and is it still closed?

Hope you're all enjoying Canada and Alaska!

Howdy,

We just crossed into BC at Sumas, WA, today and are spending two nights in Hope. We will continue up Hwy 1 to Hwy 97 beginning on Sunday and hope to reach Dawson Creek next Wednesday or Thursday and on to the AK border by the 25th. Fuel is $1.25 per liter here in Hope.

We look forward to seeing you all along the way.

Safe travels everyone!

We are at Shelby, Mt right now, plan on crossing at Sweetgrass tomorrow.
Had planned on going through Hinton to Grand Prairie, but looks like weather
could be too bad. Flexibility is the name of the game.
You all be careful out there now.

Beshundler - I highly recommend route 40 from Hinton/Jasper through Grande Cache to Grande Prairie. We finished the Grande Cache to Grande Prairie portion yesterday. Unless there are more storms the route should be fine when you come up.

The route goes along the border of the Willmore Wilderness area and is usually a prime wildlife spotting drive. The first time we drove it around May 20th, 2004 we saw 6 black bears. Another time we saw a few bears and 2 wolves. This year due to the snow we didn't see anything other than deer before the snow stopped us in Grande Cache. However, we did spot a moose, a bear, and several elk yesterday coming up to Grande Prairie.

Keep an eye out if your interested in spotting wildlife.
