12,800 miles and almost 3 months and we are now home from Alaska. All I can say:
What a trip.
Good to be home.
Safe travels all and enjoy Alaska as much as we did.

Tomorrow we cross the border into Canada and make our way to Alaska. We actually left home (Tallahassee) on June 15th but we've been visiting friends and relatives but now the serious part of the trip starts-and the most fun we hope! We are going into Canada through North Dakota. Maybe we'll see some of you down the road. Don't use up all the good scenery before we get there.

Or you could try to go into Blueberry Lake Rec Area...again not a good place for an RV or any car. You'd better have a truck! It isn't the smoothest road you'll ever come across!

FMOS, I would been real leery of the Denali Hwy in an RV. It isn't state maintained anymore except for one or two gradings and it's not in the best of shape. If you have a toad it would be best to take a test drive before you commit your "house" to it. I haven't drove it for a few years for that very reason but I don't hear to many folks singing it's praises! Some nice country to be seen, no question, but the road to see it is not so pretty!

We were on Denali Hwy from 7 June thru 22 June. Had a great time,
stayed at Brushkana Creek BLM, Boondocked (too many great spots to
cover) and at Tangle Lakes BLM (free when we were there)
Caught a lot of Grayling, in lakes and rivers both. Lake trout at Tangle. Great scenery. Should be lots of wildlife in Sep.
Drive slow, 20 to 25 MPH with rig. Class A's on road when we were there. About 5-10 miles from Cantwell look WSW, clear day you can
see Denali. I recommend it, wish I had my 4 wheeler, would have spent more time.

What about the Top of the World Highway? We are crossing the Yukon River by ferry, on Wednesday, headed for Chicken. It has been raining all day, hope the road isn't too muddy.
