We have been to AK in our RV twice before & will be going again leaving on May 16, also leaving from Oklahoma . In '04 it took us 8 days to get from southern OK to Tok AK & in '06 it took us 7. I don't recommend traveling that many miles per day. There will be some days that you can easily do 400 miles & some you won't want to do more than maybe 250. Once you get to Whitehorse the roads are generally bad enough to slow you down significantly. If you have any more questions PM me. Have a good trip. Becky

Watson Lake Gas Prices $1.41/L

Teslin Lake $1.379. We stayed in Watson Lake Downtown Campground and got $0.03 discount at the station in Teslin Lake.

That was Canadian.

Tok - $4.02

A lot of places on the road are closed. Some not doing gast this year. So, keep tanks topped off.

Roads from Kluane Lake/Burwash Landing to border were BAD!!! Go slowly and carefully.

We are now in Tok at the Sourdough Campground. I don't know how many of you have been here, but sadly the owner has passed away from an accident last year. They are staying open. Today we are the only ones here. It is quiet and lovely here and I hope some of you will consider stpping here on your way.

Some of the campgrounds do not have water turned on. It was good that we kept the water tank about 1/2 full.

Border crossing was painless. If the guys in the booth hold their hand up, they are not waving hello. They are telling you to stop. DH and I had a good laugh with them over that one.

They asked about meats, veggies and plants purchased outside of the US. We had none left.

It has been a nice trip!

Where is everyone?

VeeByes? Are you there yet?

Tried to post pictures but didn't work. We like taking scenic 40 up from Hinton/Jasper to Grande Prairie. Unfortunately, this time we got nailed by heavy snow. Stopped last night in Grande Cache after driving in heavy snow for an hour. They closed the road behind us. This morning it was still snowing hard and most of the afternoon here too. It is supposed to let up and we will get to Grand Prairie tomorrow.

I'll work on the pictures again later.
