My husband and I recently purchased a 2007 Fleetwood Bounder. We love our new coach but...it has a SeaLand VacuFlush toilet that we are having trouble with. Just curious if there are others that have this toilet and how they feel about them. I hate to think we are going to have to fight this for the duration.

I have the 2006 Revolution with the bath and half floor plan and the rear toilet is a china vacumn flush toilet. It has worked great and we have not had any problems with it. None of the Revolution owners in the Revolution forum has reported any problems with this toilet. What kind of problems are you having? Are you using the right tissue paper, I know that certain brands of Charmin is not recommended and the type is stated in the toilet's owner manual.

We had an hysterically funny moment with one of these on the delivery of a sixty foot sailboat to the Virgin Islands from Florida about 20 years ago. Won't go into details, but suffice it to say it involved a snorkel and mask!!!

Okay, nuff said. I am sure that SeaLand has improved performance over the decades!

We are using only the RV tp and only the cleaners recommended. The problem is a vacuum leak which two repair centers have tried to remedy by replacing the seals. Our dealer said it couldn't be fixed and we would just have to live with it and the other Dometic dealer referred repairman said it would all have to be torn into to repair which would take a week or so and so is sending us to yet another repairman in Nebraska, closer to home so we can leave it. I think it will be fine if we can ever get it to work properly. We will hope for the best but I was just wanting to check out other VacuFlush owners to seek their opinions. Thanks.

Had vacuflush on our boat. Every couple of years they require new seals and duckbill valves. Buy their pressure tester gauge. Take apart each connection, starting at the toilet and work your way back to the pump. It's the only sure way to locate the problem. Usually its a worn duckbill valve or something is stuck in it. You should have a manual with their locations. If it is the toilet seal, water will disappear from the bowl.

Judy,
I have a bath and one half in my 40' Edeavor with vacuum toilet. Had problems with water draining out of bowel and then running the vacuum pump all the time. Ordered a new seal for the toilet and took out the four bolts that hold it to the floor and pulled the toilet off the stand. Put new gasket in and had no further troubles for quite awhile and then started up again. Took apart again and resealed the bowel to the stand and have not had any further troubles with it. You may try tighten the screws that hold the toilet to the floor as they may have loosened up and now letting the bowel leak water. I believe that is what happened the last time to mine.

For a boat, these vacuum toilets are probably the best but for a MH, I prefer the macerator toilets. They are really powerful, grind everything up into a slurry and are fairly efficient. They do use a lot of water and power, but other than that, are just about perfect.

One time, not thinking, I threw down a large wad of Bounty paper towels and just as I flushed, I realized what I did. No problem though, the entire thing (plus a mess of cat vomit) went down without an issue. When I drained the tank, there was no sign of the mess.

Have it in our Sea Ray, it is great. Unless you have an air leak somewhere. Tank gasket is easy to fix, and I do mine about every other year. Never have done my duckbill valves yet.

My dock neighbor had a pressure sensor fail and it would not shut off. Easy fix once he figured it out. And I have seen some with small leaks in the vacum tank that you can actually hear if you get close to it.

If it leaks out the bowl slowly then it is that seal. Be sure after flushing that there is no TP left in the bowl around the seal as it will make it make it leak.
