Just visited this political creation. What a rip off. It used to be a National Monument, now its just a tourist trap with rutted parking lots, cows wandering all over (complete with you know what), a taco shack (literally) and a bunch of "plywood lean to's" full of tourist trinkets and cheap T-shirts. And to add insult to injury, it costs $3 a person to get in. The only good thing is the brass plaque and concrete pad of the former monument. It has now become part of a indian reservation, who are obviously into maximization their return for little if any investment.

I agree to some extent; but for $3 ya had to see it didn't you??? I guess we all heard about the place for so long and we expected it to be a big deal.
I was happy it wasn't $20 because after driving out there I would have to had paid it just to see for myself.

You are right...one does feel ripped off. I am fortunate enough to have gotten there before the gates went up and the $3 charge. It was just as weird tho....out in the middle of nowhere..place where the Four Corners of Four States met.
I do have to offer up tho, that the $3 charge is right in line with our world, is it not? We pay more for help pumping gas and often air/water meters are in place. Some places charge for a cup, so you can drink water. There is no more free anything..or very little. People get charged lots of $$$ for a camp spot..then if they want WiFi...more $$.
Maybe it's not about the fee for 4 Corners..maybe it's about the greed of our world.
