I too, am a believer in no hoses or extensions. I have talked to too many people that have problems. Just buy a trucker style tire guage at a Flying J or any decent size truck stop and a double ended air chuck like the truck stops have.

My coach had extenders on it when I bought it. I don't know what brand they are but I have not had a leak in the four years I've owned it.

I have the valve extenders and they work quite well if they are put on TIGHT.

My MH has metal extenders (not braided). They are now 13 years old and on the third set of tires with about 70,000 miles of use.

I also lost a tire to extenders. At the price of tires I got Borg valve stems. Cost $100 plus $80 to have them installed. New tires will last 5-6 years. $30-35 per year is good insurance. Also I can check and air the rear tires from the outside and can check them often. Check them out at www.borgtiresupply.com
Hope this helps

Ron, thanks for your post. I checked their web site. Couldn't tell if they have what I need. They mention cast outer, steel inner. I have cast inner and outer. I'm going to give them a call.
What was your experience with them? How were they to deal with? Did you go to their store in person or mail order?
Thanks again,
Tom

As I understand the valve extensions mentioned in this thread are for 22” wheels. If you have 19.5” wheels these extensions will not work.
So the dual wheel extenders (steel flex tubing) make it easy to check and fill the rear duals. We had them installed as part of our purchase package. To date we have had no problems.
Good luck

I don't use extenders and can fill my inside dual just fine although it is a pain in the you know what. I will be adding them as soon as it gets a little warmer outside.

I'm a little confused... I have the Borg valve stems on my 19.5" rims! Works great and easy to use. This is my second MH to have them and I wouldn't have it any other way. BTW, ordered by telephone, great to deal with.

Crossfires IMO are the only way to go. I tried many different extenders etc and after putting these on, nothing else like them. Single fill ability for both wheels keeps them equalized, which is a very good thing. If one blows, the main valve shuts air off automatically. I also like the fact that on the crossfires that I bought, I can still utilize my pressure pro sensors to monitor each tire independently.

Get yourself a set of Crossfires or Cat's Eyes. Truckers use them. They are a little pricey but worth it.
Have had Crossfires for 3 years with no problem. One point to air up both tires, keeps the pressure equal in both tires, and you can keep an eye on the pressure at fuel stops.
