So how quiet (or not) is it compared to a Honda generator?? Champion's website doesn't seem to give dB levels.

Oh boy, here we go! To keep the noise police away I painted my Champion red and stuck a Honda logo on it. It's now quieter that a 2000 Honda and produces twice the power.

I have the 1500W, it is not as quiet as the Honda; but it is not like a construction genny. You can talk around mine, walk away and it is not load.
Now, true story, COE campground lots of Honda's and in the end it was me and another Honda that was running full bore due to their microwave I guess. Half way between his and mine was not much difference.
the Honda is digital, and has smart throttle, making it purr when it is not under heavy load. The Champions run at high power all the time.
Love it for what I use it for, mostly on my own 5 acres camping.

If you put a Mugen sticker on it, you'll get a few extra hp!

I was bad, I haven't fired it up in several months, took 10 tries to get it going this afternoon. But, it ran fine; and even in the garage it was not loud.

I'm in a CG right now with a Honda 2k and a Champion in adjoining sites. The Champion, in my estimation, is about twice as loud. That doesn't make it annoying, but you can hear it from twice the distance of a Honda.

And you can tell a definite difference in the kind of sound.. the Champ has the distinct putt-putt and whirr, whereas the Honda is just a mild hummm.

That's okay once in a while my Honda takes 15 pulls after it has been setting for a while. It is not an inverter generator and is a few years old. It doesn't have enough power (2300W/2500W) to run microwave, power converter and tv at the same time while winter boondocking. It will run the microwave or the AirCond if I kill the other breakers. I saw 3 brand new Champions (3000W/3500W) today for $200 dollars each and am awful tempted to go back and get one. Can't see shelling out $1700 for a 3000W Honda or Yamahama right now.
