I haven't got too see one in person yet, do you know what the wall thickness of the tube is? Thanks!

Someone please verify this, but I believe it's only 12 ga. steel. The tongue might be thicker. I'll measure tonight.

They have welded reinforcements around the holes cut in the frame for the lifter cables. A few weeks ago I measured and found the steel to be 0.214" thick at these areas.

12ga is approx. 1/8" steel. The reinforced areas are nearly 1/4" so that would make sense. Thanks for this measurement, I was worried they were using something thinner.

Have you considered doing a shore power cable conversion like this Marinco shore power detachable cable?

I have found that most if not all popups are built fairly cheaply . . . and always seem to need some fixing and modding! I have a list of things that I would like to do but only get a thing or two done each year.

AZJIM1,

We did this mod last year. It was quick & simple. Now when we camp without hook-ups we leave the cable home plus since we no longer have to store the cable under the bench seat it leaves room for other items to be stored there.

Thanks to another pup owner, we were able to use their instructions on how it's done with out a problem.

Thought I'd better update this thread.

Finished rewiring the entire trailer. Not one short or open circuit. Mounted a junction box beneath frame for the 7 conductor trailer wire from the tow vehicle. Relocated converter to galley. Installed LED rocker switches for pump (blue), inverter (red) and furnace (amber) on side of galley. Installed a 12VDC power outlet too.

I've done some recent work also. I lengthened the front deck by about 8 inches, and welded stronger supports for the spare tire lifter under the front deck. Will post some photos when I find the camera that the kids misplaced.

Also, have you thought of cutting a couple inches off the legs of the dinette table and re-welding? I plan on doing that soon. It's simply too high. I've also thought of making a lighter weight table with a mono-pole leg.

Mono-pole is the way they use to make mororhome tables. More stable, just need a way to pack/store it. My front deck could use a little lengthening but the hitch weight is heavy enough as it is now. I'd like to see usable ramps on the front deck too. Someday I'll modify my bike ramps for the front deck.

Thanks, web. With weddings and graduations this spring, my progress had ground to a halt.

Sure feels great to have everything done... at least everything done for this year. I need to upgrade my welding skills before I attempt a rear bumper platform for my batteries and 2KW genset. The roof rack install went very well last night.

You guys are correct about the table height. I decided to wait until the kids are gone before lowering it. With it being so high, there's more room to manuever when sliding in and out of the booth.

I'll be updating this thread with more pics and info over the next few days.

Here's a couple pics of the trailer wiring junction box. I mounted it on the inside frame rail near the steps. I ordered an extra couple feet of extension cable so that I could leave a service loop under the trailer in the event my splice ever goes bad.

Last of my electrical updates. The amber switch LED for the furnace is a bit dimmer compared to the red (inverter) and blue (water pump). The remaining switch location currently has a round plug.

Here's the last plumbing update. My sink drains WAY fast now!

ProRac roof rack installation is complete. Very simple, straightforward installation.

First step was to mark the holes for drilling. Because of the curve of the roof ends, it's difficult to measure the roof with a tape measure. So, once I had the first side marked, I used a hook and a string to mark the exact location on the opposite side.

I bought some 1/4" fender washers to use with the interior mounting bolts. They are somewhat covered by the inside roof curtain.

The bolt holes in the roof were sealed with RTV silicone before the mounting clip was bolted down.

All done.

I bought a used cargo basket off of craigslist. This will hold wheel chocks, outside carpet, grey water jug, hose and other wet or dirty stuff. I will mount a homemade carrier for our outdoor table on the opposite side of the cargo basket.

We have the slow sink drain problem as well. What was the issue/solution?
