Sheez, I thought I just got a pretty good deal on the 4 Maxxis 225/75R15 Load range D tires I just put on our trailer. Reading this thread, now I'm not so sure, hahaha.

I am especially surprised to hear of the deal Discount Tire offered on Maxxis. I checked with Discount tire here, they wanted nearly $500 for 4 of them (mounted, balanced, out the door). I then called a known Maxxis dealer here, Mr Nobody, and they got me into a set for $437 (out the door). I went with them, have had the new tires on for a few weeks now. I had also looked at Denman and Greenball Radials (ST), they were a little less expensive, but not by a great amount.

I'm very happy with the Maxxis. If you do some searching online on the various forums, and look at various reviews of different tire brands, you'll find that Maxxis is one of the few brands for trailer tires where it is very difficult to find anything but good reviews. Seems everybody that buys these tires are very happy with them.

I agree, though, that they can be hard to find. You gotta look, and ask around. Some places can order them for you, but you have to ask for them specifically. Such is the case with Discount Tire.

Good luck.

I am fortunate and can buy tires from a wholesale distributor (the kind of place Discount and other tire stores buy from) and can mount and balance them at a friends shop for free.

To pay $100 each is a good deal.

maybe we have come full circle...

we wanted tires cheaper and cheaper... they obliged us by making them in sweat shops but almost all of them are junk...

so now a good Chinese tire cost a lot and we still want cheap...

quality made and shipping from afar, cost about as much or more than quality made and shipped across town...

while cost doesn't assure quality,,, quality cost...

I just got thru looking at some Maxxis on tires-easy.com. They have the 205/75R15 for 75.60 each, plus shipping of course. Also, this is just tires, no mounting, balancing and so on...

Just replaced the ST205/75R15's on our '05 Nash 22H with Maxxis ST225/75R15's.
Best price I found was the local Discount Tire store for $65 each. They waved the $10/tire shipping(they had to order them) and the $12/tire mounting/balancing fee since I bought new rims in the deal as well.
I think the Maxxis web site listed the ST225 M8008's at $128 each so Discounts price I thought was pretty good.

Hi, We also have an '05 Nash 22H and are thinking about putting those tires on too. What rims did you get? Have you had any rubbing problems? Thanks!

About internet mail ordering - - - I checked a number of mail order sites that carried Maxxis & it appeared they had about any car tire size you wanted, but I didn't find any that carried the ST tires. Anyone have any sources to share?

Check out Bills Tire in Columbus, NE... They stock Maxxis and if they don't have your size they will order them and have em' for you in a couple days...

they should be more available in the near future...

after having a discussion with the national marketing director, I have learned they have very recently singed contracts with two large distributors, one having more than 60 outlets...
