Does anyone have the dimensions of the game that is played in campgrounds called "washers"?? I need to know the dimensions of the boxes, the hole (tube), the distance between the boxes and the size of the washers.
I made my own, they are 4 ft long, 12 inches wide and the holes start 10 inches from the end with 7 inches between them. 3 holes. I think the washers are 3 inches. I made them about 6 inches off the ground using 2x2 legs. I covered them with marine type carpet and made the holes with vinyl. with a big help from my DW!
I framed them with 1x2's so that the 1x2's stuck up about 1/2 inch on each side and end to help keep the washers from flying off the sides and give a little help with the game. It is a tough game at times.

500 feet from where I am camping. I was next to a bunch of people one time who played washers all night long. CLANG CLUNK BANG PING till I was ready to go postal.
Considering that I am the 4 Time Defending World Champion of Washers it gives me the right to provide you my professional opinion. All kidding aside the beauty of Washers is that there are only a few basic guild line rules....that leaves the holes and boards to be what you make them.
We have two sets. One is more difficult to play than the other.
We use play the style, 1,3,5 pt holes. Biggest hole is 1pt, 3 middle, and 5 the smallest. you can also switch the boards around to play 5,3,1 for even more challenges.
We did cover ours with carpet and only used 2X4's for the frame. Place the boards 10ft aprt and starting pitching. Ours were made by a professional cabinet builder so they are crazy strong.
If you want to play our group, bring a sack lunch and some money and plenty of aiming oil (beer)
As for playing at night, that is one of our camp rules, we only play during the day and we are respectful of neighbors, if we are too close to other campers we don't play at all.
If we want to play the single hole version, we simply use our PCV pipe and put them in the ground, it is virtually silent. Totally agree with the above poster, I would be pretty upset if I heard washers all night long...great news about carpet boards is that there is no real "clanging" just a thump here and there.
Cheers and happy playing.

Montross, eh? I sold my lot in Oyster Cove (Northumberland) a couple of years ago, to buy a home. But a close friend of mine has a cottage on the P near Hague.
Small world. Hope the area weathers this downturn.
Never heard of washers, & I've been RVing for decades. Have to look into it.
