This has probably been covered before, but what it the best battery for my new TT? Not looking for a dual battery set up yet, but if that is truly the best way to go then I would consider it. Also not ruling bout 2 6V batteries. What I am looking for is the brand/type of battery. Or if those are only slightly better, should I just go get the cheapest marine battery I can fit in the box?

Thanks!

You will not be disappointed with two Interstate 6 volt U2200 in series.

Good luck,

If you can afford them the following company makes very rugged batteries.

If your trailer has no battery on it at all yet, I would definately spend the extra money up front and go dual 6v. That is of course unless you will only camp with power then you should buy the cheapest battery out there.

There is no correct answer for everyone since the best all depends on how you plan on using it. If you camp in full service campgrounds the best battery is the lowest price you can find. Anything MORE than that is a waste of money. If you camp basically with no electric connections most of the time you can't do any better than duel 6 volt golf cart batteries. They'll supply all the power you need and with normal care will last for many years. If you need to mount the batteries inside the trailer or standing on their tails, AGM is your best bet. Cost will be about double and power not quite as good but gives your the versatility you need with no off gassing. Good luck / skip

As usual skipnchar has hit it pretty much on the head.

Whatever you do try to find a true deep cycle battery instead of a combination (often called marine) type. It may not provide more power but will likely last longer, especially if you are dry camping.

Wow just go down to the battery store, auto parts store, wal mart, whatever and get a new deep cycle. Let your wallet be your guide. Best for one will not be best for all.

Ditto what everyone else has said. What I did was went to the local Interstate dist. and bought one of their X-out deep cycles. There is nothing wrong with the battery except for a slight blemish on the case somewhere which will not allow Interstate to sell it with their labels on it. I paid $35 for a battery that retailed for approx. $80 . Then every spring before I put the battery back int the trailer I recondition it and fully charge it. My battery charger does all of this I just hook it up.
