You say LWB. I assume that means you have a LB. Absolutely not correct. Check my sig. And re-read hankpage. You will now have 2, maybe 4 extra holes in your bed. And it isn't safe to tow that trailer. NOT SAFE.

I installed my own rails, so I know whereof I speak. BTW- I don't recommend installing your own rails. But that's a thread for another day.

You MUST take action on this. Get Reese involved. Might be lawyer time. Act immediately.

This is precisely why I sat under my truck for the better part of a day and did my own install. I trust my own work much more than some stranger who won't be riding in the vehicle. The B&W I put in my truck last week landed so the pin will be slightly ahead of rear axle. The install you received is not even close to right. They must have let the green horn do it. I would NOT let them have another crack at it! IMO you definitely have the upper hand as far as negotiating their paying for a QUALIFIED installer to do a re/re of the hitch. Good luck with it. Would like to hear how this all turns out for you.

The installer is not only wrong, he is at least a fool, possibly an idiot. To say the manufacturers instructions are wrong is quite possibly the stupidest thing I have ever heard. Contact Reese, and let them know what this fool did, then contact a lawyer. Having extra holes in the bottom of your truck is unacceptable, when it is the result of poor workmanship. Your truck bed should either be repaired or replaced, and the hitch installed correctly, exactly according to the intructions.
I, too, installed the hitch in my truck myself, mainly because I was too cheap to pay the $250 installation fee. It isn't THAT difficult to do it RIGHT!
Make them fix it, AND they can also fix the truck bed!

Like everybody else has said ... this is not acceptable.

It should be over the rear axle or up to a couple of inches in front of the rear axle. It must be moved IMO.

I apologize if I am way off base here, but you do not say if the hitch is a slider or not. Could it be that you simply have it in the rear position ???

YES, do answer this one. A slider would put it back 10". But then why would someone put a slider in a long bed?
