We have a 2001 35 ft alpenlite avalon. 1300 nights in it so far and still a great winter home in Arizona for 6 months each year. We have an airhitch and trailair center point suspension on the alpenlite so it travels very smooth.

I heard the average is about 3 years. I was told that most RV's are never paid for until the 3-4th owner, in otherwords they are traded in before payoff.

Well we kept our travel trailer for not quite a year before trading up to the fifth wheel! We made a bad decision on the travel trailer - it wasn't the trailer's fault (I still like the layout that trailer had) it just didn't work as we had hoped.

But our Cougar is another matter and we hope to keep it and keep using it for many more years!

We have had our first and only RV since we pulled out of Florida January 1997 in our 38' Carriage tripple slide 5th wheel. It's still is great shape and by adding or upgrading something every few years it has kept us from buying a new one. We have been looking and at new ones for the last year or so but haven't made any definite decisions. #1 because it's paid for and #2 we really do have it set up just the way we want it. Diana

We had our last unit for three seasons and had the opportunity to move to a bigger unit for the right price. This will be the third season for this trailer and we plan to keep it for a minimum of two more.

First RV was a TT which we used for 7 yrs. Second is a 2001 5ver which we have had for 6 yrs. Plan on keeping it much longer as we really enjoy it and our RVing years are slowly wraping up due to declining health.

I still have my first fifth wheel and, barring accidents, do not expect to have another.

Plan on keeping for 10 years. It's our first but went big so we wouldn't have to move up. Never have regretted it, the room is great to have! Seat's 20 around the table for dinner with all kinds of room to move around. (yeah, I know...that's kind of an overkill but that's just the way I am. Ha!)

3-4 years if the price is right then again got to start thinking about the industry quality control now and if the new units are going to be more of a headache rather then to keep the one that has all the bugs out of it.
