Hello. Need to know how to de-winterize a 2007 Jay Feather Sport 218. I had it winterized at Camping World but do not have time to take it in and besides they charge an arm and a leg. Can anyone help? I looked thorugh all the paperwork and no help there. Thanks

Here's my list

1. Check/clean demand pump filter screen.
2. Check/clean air conditioner filter
3. Un-bypass HWH (handle horizontal), connect TT to house water.
4. Remove HWH drain plug (7/8”), flush HWH, install drain plug.
5. Completely Fill, then Drain, then Fill to 1.5 marks, the fresh water tank.
6. Flush all water lines, hot and cold.
7. Verify demand pump works.
8. Check tire pressures, put to 35 psi, remember to check spare.
9. Check lug nut (13/16”) torque is 92 ft #
10. Check battery water.
11. Turn on both Propane tanks.
12. Install Propane alarm fuse and Smoke detector battery.
13. Verify the following work on propane; stove, water heater, furnace, and refrigerator.
14. Torque Equalizer drawbar bolts (15/16”) to 46 ft# with bars in loosest position.
15. Verify Intercoms and flashlight have batteries.
16. Empty waste tanks into house toilet.
17. Put peanut oil (valve lube) in toilet, and 1 cup in each waste tank.
18. Add 1 gallon water in black, and say a quart in sink drain.

Just a little tip... don't turn your HWH bypass until after you have flushed your lines and holding tanks of the pink stuff. If you get that pink stuff in your HWH, it's a pain to get that tank flushed out.

This is what I do.
If you are talking about just the water system, here is what we do.
1. Connect hose to city water inlet.
2. Turn on all faucets and let them run till clear. Don't forget the outside water station if you have one.
3. Flush toilet a couple of times.
4. Install any under counter filters and ice maker filters.
5. Make sure drain plug is installed in outside of water heater.
6. Turn bypass valves on water heater to summer position.
7. Fill water heater. Open hot water faucet to let it fill. When water starts coming out instead of air, you have it filled.

If you intend to use the fresh water tank for drinking and cooking, you should sanitize it. See this thread for details on the procedure.

If you removed the battery for the winter, charge it up and install it.

I always give the entire trailer a good wash, including the roof and awning. Check the tires for wear and pressure. Plug in to electric and check appliances. Check your truck receiver for cracks and wear if you are using a travel trailer. Check your hitch. In other words, check everything you can think of while you are at home so you don't have any unpleasant surprises when on the road or in a campground. Often, bugs, bees etc. will like to make a home in the refrigerator or water heater or furnace propane lines and when you go to use them they don't work properly. Best to find out these things before you take off.

These things I just mentioned in the above paragraph are not necessarily part of de-winterizing itself but are the procedure I follow each time I bring my trailer out of storage.

Hope this helps.
