I'd ask for the replacement door or make sure that Jayco OK's the diamond plate incase there are problems with the fix later on down the road.

Make them replace the door, the web site that John posted has the door for $325.11 with mounting hardware and butyl tape (I would use something different hint silicone caulk)
So I have to ask why Jayco would tell you “they would be ok with it” (the diamond plate), I sure as heck wouldn’t be all right with it. Where is this great Customer Service I have heard everyone talk about from Jayco?

Actually, if you think about it, the fact that Jayco is okay'ing the diamond plate or even in the picture at all is testament to their customer service.
Let's look at the facts:
Dealer caused problem. Problem was not a Jayco problem or something that broke or needed fixing/replacing under warranty.
The hole in the door is the fault of the dealer, not Jayco. In reality, Jayco should have never been brought into this at all as the dealer caused the problem - the dealer should fix the problem - i.e. - replace the door. Period.
This is not a Jayco quality issue or repair issue. It is a dealer issue and not the fault (nor the responsibility) of Jayco.

If the trailer was originally being fixed under warranty then the dealer is acting as Jayco's representative. If the dealer damages the trailer while they have it in their possesion to make repairs then Jayco should be liable and see that the customer is satisfied. So if the dealer will not make good the OP has every right to get Jayco to put pressure on the dealer and to see that the customer is happy.
I had problems with the dealer I bought my trailer from. They attempted to do warranty work authorized by the Northwood who built my trailer. After 2 bad attempts to fix a problem and not doing what should have been done on other warranty problems I contacted Northwood to give them a list of what the dealer screwed up and did not fix right along with other warranty problems I discovered after severing my relationship with the dealer. I tolod them I no longer trusted the dealer to work on my TT because not only did they do a terrible job on the warranty work they did a sloppy job installing my add-a-room. They did not make me keep dealing with an incompetant dealer they stepped up to the plate and made an appointment for me to bring the trailer to them and they did what needed to be done and fixed the bad work done by the dealer.

I'd take the diamond plate , call it an upgrade, and get on with enjoying my RV.

I agree on this assessment, but Jayco is not Northwood. Northwoods quality and reputation as a manufacturer/customer service is exceptional in this industry and is one of the reasons I purchased my Arctic Fox after having had some serious issues with the other brands in the past.
I too feel that the dealer should be replacing the door and that they represent the manufacturer while performing warranty work. Whether the dealer should compensate the manufacturer is a separate issue and should not effect the customer either way.

So you have your new truck in at the dealer and the seat gets torn.... they want to install a seat cover and call it good. Nice upgrade.... I mean band-aid. No way... dealers have insurance this is a case where they should use it and take care of the customer.

Good point. However I was addressing the poster's "where is their good customer service I hear about" slam to Jayco when 1. - it's the beginning of the problem and we don't know how it will turn out and 2) the hole in the door is not necessarily Jayco's fault. Yes, any warranty work should be done and done right and if it's not they have every right to scream at Jayco, dealer etc. What was being fixed was on the other side of the trailer - not even close. The door wasn't even being worked on or "fixed". The dealer, in this case, was the negligent one by them putting a hole in something completely on the opposite side of the trailer from where they were working. They weren't working on fixing the door and then a hole was there. This hole was a careless action by the dealer and the dealer should take care of it.

Sorry you think it was a slam as it was not, just a question to all of the people that post Jayco has the best customer service of all the RV manufactures.
As to #1: Jayco told the OP what they thought here is part of his post
“Anyway, I emailed Jayco and sent photos of the damage. Jayco emailed back and said they contacted the Dealership and felt that the offer to Diamond plate on the door was okay!”
and that tells me that BOTH Jayco and the Dealer are liars and looking at their bottom line and not the Customer! Why you say we have a link that will let you price out a door and it came in at $325 and change not $1000.00+ like the dealer told the OP. So tell me where is that famous Customer Service?
Why is it if a car dealer does not repair your TV we hear Chrysler, GM, Chevy or Ford builds junk and I’m never going to buy a domestic ever again. I bet if your deal put a hole in your GMC Yukon Denali’s dash then told you the fix was going to be a dash cover like the ones you see in the JC Whitney catalog you would be on the phone to GM asking what they are going to do to make this right.
The OP called Jayco because the dealer is an authorized dealer for them and I’m sure in your Jayco owner’s manual it spells out what to do in these cases i.e. contact dealer Service Manager, then General Manager then Owner then Jayco, it’s called the Chain of Command.
I’m sorry if my dealer punched a hole in my TT then said they would cover it with DP do to the cost of the door and Keystone backed them my TT would be parked out in front of the dealer’s place of business and I would be letting everyone know what kind of Dealer and manufacturer they are.
