Does anyone know the size difference ( in inches) between a regular queen and an RV queen bed. Also has anyone changed out their RV queen for a regular pillow top queen and how does it fit. We have a walk around queen and are thinking of changing out the bed for a regular queen.

I'm pretty sure they are the same width but the reg queen is 6" longer. I'm not positive but 80% sure.

the rv ones are shorter in lenght if you had the room at the end of the bed i guess you could but it would hange over the bed support and you may have to add to it.

A regular queen is 60 x 80. A RV queen is usually 60 x 74 or 75.

it works fine if there is room at the foot of the bed, but you may have to prop it up to get under it...

I have seen short queen's in regular bedding stores also and air beds are made is std and short...

It is do able, but you may have to add some plywood at the end of the bed to help support the mattress.

Thanks all...I'm going to check some local furniture stores and see what I can find. I think Camping World has them, but they are outrageous.

I'm 6'5" tall and just can't imagine sleeping on an RV Queen. My feet hang over a regular queen just a bit anyway. So ...

We ordered a replacement mattress from here:

http://www.mattressbymail.com/conventional.html

We ordered the Queen 5" thick HD36-R Foam mattress and the mattress over that goes over it. We'll also put a foam topper over that. I'm not sure if we'll have to build a box/support for the end, but we do, so be it.

We haven't put it in yet. We'll make it work somehow.

Check around locally with mattress stores. They do sell RV queens. We just purchased replacement innerspring mattress that was custom made (needed 59" width to clear built ins due to increase in mattress height.) Absolutely awesome difference for $300. We could not have gone longer due to TT configuration.

Edit: I guess you WANT the longer mattress
