What kind of fishing are you looking to do? Saginaw Bay is good for Walleye, Bass, Perch, and Salmon, as well as others, but most charters specialize on a certain species of fish. For example, there are a couple of charters out of the Port Austin area that go out only for perch, and some that only go out for salmon. The type of fishing you want to do will help you decide which area you're going to, and then we can find you a nice campground (those are all over).

what I would like to do, since we will only have 4 or 5 days is go for perch a couple of days and walleye for the same amt. of time. the one I am looking at for perch right now is browns landing and miss charity isle charter boat are you familiar with this one ?

Stayed there several years ago. The campground is fairly small but was pretty quiet. It is right on the lake front. When we stayed there they would take cash only for the campground. The charter boat is a pretty sturdy vessel and the captain did a good job getting us into the perch. At the time we went we were pulling in a lot of 8"-12" perch. Again I know that the fishing has changed a lot up there since we've been there, however I've heard it has been picking back up again. Make reservations early!!! Good luck and have fun.

Not familiar with them, but most of the guide services are pretty good I think. You can check with the Michigan DNR (www.mi.gov/dnr) to see if they have any specific info. Also, you might want to consider Tawas Point State Park Campground as a base of operations since that's the area you're going to. Very nice park and campground. Just so you know, most Michigan State Park Campgrounds only have electricity at the sites.....no water or sewer, so you need to fill up coming in, and dump pulling out.
By the way, a previous poster mentioned the Ausable River. He's right, it's beautiful and great fishing, but only for trout (or steelhead at certain times). If you're into fly fishing, it's one of the primo trout streams in the country.
