I see your "headed for washington" so my guess is Fidalgo Bay Resort in Anacortes.
They charge $35 a night and have coin operated showers.

The good news is they are broken... So the showers are free.

Guess the campground wants to lower water usage, and lower their water heating costs. And, it most likely deters folks from using the showers, thus maybe lowering the cleaning time (salaries) needed.

This was something being tossed around at a local campground I visited as folks would take showers, not turn the water off all the way, and management was screaming over the high utility bills.

Look at all the restaurants that now have the auto faucets as well as many rest area restrooms.

I am not for it, but I can see the cost cutting measures being needed.

If the campgrounds are trying to save water, WHY NOT install one of those thing-ah-ma-bobs that turn the water on and off when you put your hands under the faucet ... in the shower. So When you step in the water turns on, when you step out, the water turns off. Just watch out for those first few seconds when it COLD before the warm water hits the shower head! Uhh-la-laaa!

Now days a professional truck driver has to pay approx $10 for a shower at a Truck Stop and your complaining about .50 shower when you probably have one in your RV?? If you dont want to pay it then dont.

Have run into that a few times at private campgrounds. Really hate it when I'm all ready to take a shower and discover I need money...Yes you have a legitimate gripe.

Complain Complain Complain. Gripe Gripe Gripe. Gosh what else is wrong? There is so much good about RVing why do we have to dwell on these little things? I once belonged to a RV club where that is all anyone ever did. Kinda gets old after a while. Find something you like and talk about it!

I'm guessing it is a KOA. Better check to be sure they did not attach a suction hose to your wallet when you weren't looking. How much did they charge you extra for the dogs?

I repeat my question from your other "good grief" post - why stay there? And many have asked - please name that cg so others can avoid it.
