I have a 2001 F-250 with a 6" lift and I am getting ready to buy a equalizer 14000/1400 hitch and I am wondering what size shank to go with. a 6" drop or a 9". I am towing a sandpiper 31sp Th. I hate to order the wrong one. Thank you

You'll have to measure to be sure. I have a stock Dodge 3/4 ton 4x4 and use a 6" drop for most towing use. However, I have pulled an enclosed trailer that required only a 4" drop and a specialty trailer that needed only a 2" drop.

Again, measure to be sure. Remember that your rear suspension will likely sag under the load.

I had a 31sp, great rig, very stout. Know that its heavier than stated on the cabinet sticker. If I recall, my ball was even with the receiver on the distribution set-up, and that was a stock height f250 4wd. Truck and trailer leveled out perfect. Dealer had set the equipment up at trailer pick-up, they nailed it. My guess would now be, your ball should be 6" below the receiver, huh ?
