Well after 2 years of anticipation, my Jayco Eagle 345 BHS has finally arrived! I picked it up Sunday and I can not begin to explain the difference in towing from a TT. I have been following posts on fifth wheels, have gone to countless shows, and visited various dealers. After getting my feet wet and towing it home, I can say it's actually enjoyable to tow. Now all that's left is to start planning trips. Thanks for all the advise during my search, it was well worth the wait!

How big was your travel trailer and why do you like the way the 5er pulls better. Just was curious what the difference was

I had a Sunline 267SR that was 28'. We really liked the floorplan, however, we started running out of space on extended trips with everything we brought. The one thing I used to experience was sway whenever tractor trailers would pass me, or even worse were box trucks. With the fifth wheel I was maintaining 55 mph and I had trucks, box trucks, ect pass me with no effect. It was like night and day. Ofcourse this was only one time that I towed with it, so time will tell.

Welcome to the enlightened world of 5th wheel owners! The sky is just a bit bluer in our world, the birds never s**t on our trailers as they do to TT's, we 5er owners are a bit smarter, smell better, and still look great when we eventually get older! And the fact that you picked a Jayco, proves the point that you are smarter! LOL!

The real test will come the first time you back that beast up into a driveway or space! It's a learning curve, hope your's goes easier than my first try! And that's after towing a TT for 26 years and 7 Jayco's! It's just different, but does tow nice!
