I am already needing new tires for my 06 WW Fk2100.

I am having trouble finding anything decent in the original size of 205/75r15. I wanted a tire a bit better than original in load capacity.

There just doesnt seem to be anything else available in this size besides the junk that it came with. For what it seems trailer tires are going to cost I would expect them to last more than 2 years.

what are some of you using out there ?

The load capacity for any given size and Load Range is set by industry standard. In your size, you'll find Load Range C tires rated to 1820# @ 50 psi. If you have the room for bigger tires, you can use ST225/75R15 Load Range D tires rated to carry 2540# @ 65 psi.

Or try light truck tires. LT215/75R15 tires in Load Range D carry 2095# @ 65 psi, but require a wheel at least 5.5" wide. You'd want a highway rib tread or the smoothest all season tread you can find.

There are several brands of trailer tires that have good reports...Maxxis, TowMax, Goodyear Marathon, a few others.

Careful with LT tires, they not designed to handle the lateral force's that the tires are subject too when you turn a corner, especially with the weight of the toy haulers.

The tires I run can handle it.
Michelin XPS Ribs. Strongest E rated tire on the market.
Tire has steel cords in the sidewalls.
They are so stout, the tire guys at Discount had a hard time getting them mounted. They didn't want to flex.
Nothing wrong with a LT tire on a trailer.
Alot of big 5ers are coming with them standard now.

I never said that the XPS ribs were not strong enough, I am getting a set for my Raptor, The OP did not spec. the type of tire, just an LT tire.... The XPS are a commerical tire, the are made to handle the weight; unlike most LT tires.

Thanks Guys

I would like to run a larger tire with the E rating. The wheel well looks pretty tight. I'll have to do some measuring to see just how big I can go. I know right now pulling off the tire it has to push out the fender flare to get it out.

This has to be part of WW tire problems. They put a tire on a 7000lb trailer that to me is only good for a small trailer at most. I know they are C rated But I think they are just too small.

on the contrary, LTs are a better design/engineered tire for side scrubbing issues/weight issues and most importantly speed rating. The only thing a trailer tire (ST) is better at is a P tire. Our higher GVWR trailers (even RVs) come with LTs. Even some RV manufactors offer them as a upgrade on their bigger units.
