Most of the time, if we're headed straight back to our storage facility, I wait to dump and flush there. That way I don't hold anyone up and I can take all the time I want.

Otherwise at a public dump station, and folks are waiting, I just dump my 3 tanks (no back-flushing), and move on. Normally it takes around 10 minutes or so.

I agree with this post. I wait patiently for others, so when it is my turn to dump I am going to flush my black tank and empty the others. I never timed it but I know it takes longer than 5 minutes.

If people are in that much of a hurry they should have left before me. Now, I am usually the last one leaving any campground on a given day, because I push the check out limits. Never ready to go home. So it is not often that someone is behind me in the dump line.

Why should I rush and do a half a55 job and have to pay for that on a later trip because there are people waiting in line. I dont dilly dally, but I do stay there long enough to do the job correctly.

I hope they are joking

If not, they are probably the same campers that blast their radios and tvs while camping...

I also agree...but I also stay at a site with FHU when available. If I have to dump before leaving (i.e.: a state or national type CG), then I dump black, rinse quick, then open gray then shut off the black valve starting a count of 20, then shut off rinse line at count of 20 (puts enough water in the black tank to prevent piling or to aid in cleaning while driving). By the time my rinse hose is put away, the gray line is almost done draining, then it's back in storage and off we go.

The proper amount of time = the time it takes to empty the tanks

If you like to flush, flush, flush, please do so at a "Slow time"

If there is a line up I have my clear adapter hooked up when I"m "next in line" hook up my hose, dump, rinse the hose and adapter and move on

Five minutes max; I only flush out the tank at next available full hook-up site.
Hard to dump all my tanks in 5 minutes (2 black and 2 gray) plus I like to make sure there are no surprises left in my sewer hoses. Always like to rinse them before storing and I think it would be frowned upon if you started rinsing sewer hoses out at any other place than a dump station. If the campground dump station is full I usually hit a truck stop or some rest area equipped with a dump station.

--- drain your black water tanks first and then the gray will end any suprises in the hose.----

Actually that it the way I do it, but when all the tanks are full (which sometimes they will be) it is a 166 gallons. It takes me more than 5 minutes sorry. I use a 20 ft hose instead of a short hose to avoid moving the trailer (2 black tanks 20 ft apart) and sometimes even after I dump the gray water, I like to quickly rinse the hose. Dumping waste is not my highlight of the weekend and it's not like I am enjoying a sandwich while I'm doing it. It takes some longer than others. If you are in that big of a hurry you can't wait 10-20 minutes for someone to dump their tanks you probably need to relax a little bit. There, I've wasted 5 minutes of my life explaining why it take me longer than 30 seconds or 5 minutes to dump crap.

I might be pulling THEIR hair out!

And speaking of fast....some guy in front of us at a rest area dump station drove up, pulled the cork, then drove away. No hose, no wash-down...nothing! Left a real mess.

We were so shocked and it was so FAST we didn't get a license or anything!

I take 5 to 10 minutes to dump, If there is anyone waiting I will not flush I will only dump and get out of the way.

I hope you weren't replying to my post previous to yours, but I also use the clear bend...and I'll start the rinse as I pull the valve...once it runs reasonably clear, I shut it then open gray...following my count...hope I wasn't unclear...whole process takes 5-8 minutes, 10 if I'm moving slow (sore back)...
