Chassis manual states: Rotate tires 7,500, change oil 3,000 or 7,500 depending on which schedule you go by,get greased every oil change,

Here is my question: I have read and know of people who never rotate their RV tire. Good idea or bad?

I was told to forget the schedule and go with oil and lube every 5,000 miles. Good or bad?

We change the oil every 5,000 miles and rotate the tires every 6-7 years with new ones.

I don't plan on rotating any tires----they will "age" out before they wear out.

Some info on your MH would help get you better information relative to oil change recommendations, but I'm going to assume a gasser. A gas MH should be considered severe duty, and you should use the 3,000 mile change period unless you're using a good synthetic. Then 5,000 miles or once per year would probably be OK---at least that's what I'm doing with Mobil 1 oil.

My Ford F-53 schedule says change oil and rotate tires at 5,000 miles and lube at 10,000 miles. I see no reason to deviate from that, but am willing to be convinced otherwise. I'm a big believer in tire rotation when it comes to extending tire longevity in my other vehicles. I do my own oil changes, but I'm having the tire shop do this rotate since it's the first and I'm having Dually Valves installed. I think that I'll be able to do the future rotates myself. For those of you who have F-53s, get a Fumoto valve for easy oil changes.

We don't rotate at all. Oil and lube every year. I probably will try to find a way to do the lubes myself in the future as some were missed this year. (or I might draw them a picture)

Rotate the tires IF (and only if) they show signs of abnormal wear (generally on the fronts).

If that occurs in under 15,000 miles, have alignment and/or suspension components checked, as that is abnormal.

So you could rotate them once or at most twice before they hit the age for replacement-- or never if everything is OK.

I too believe that the tires will age out on my MH before they need rotating, and its almost that time now. On high mileage MHs, maybe rotation would be in order.
Being an old mechanic, I always overkill on oil and lube. I use the 3000 mile interval for both. As for lube, I believe that one shot of grease every 3000 miles can't hurt anything. As for oil I also change it and filter at 3000 miles with Mobil 1, full synthetic. Probably overkill but its only $40.00 per change. I pay a lot more than that for insurance. After all, look what the MH cost.

We change the oil/filter/lube once a year or 5000 miles, whichever comes first. The tires are nto rotated until they are replaced.

Workhorse, Winnebago and GM recommend the 8.1 oil be changed at 3000 miles. Doesn't make any difference if using regular oil or synthetic. This is a severe service application of the 8.1 especially if towing a vehicle with your motorhome.

No need to rotated tires since wear is negligible for most of us. Rotate only if abnormal wear develops at a tire position.

I plan on changing my oil at 5000 mi, Mobil 1, and give the chassis and ujoints a shot of grease every 3000 mi. I will change my tranny fluid every other year. My MH is only 25 ft long so the 454 does not have to work that hard to move it. I rarely drive over 60 mph anyway. I would rather enjoy the drive than white knuckle the bread box at 70. That short wheelbase is interesting in a crosswind.....chris3
