I have a 2008 Newmar Baystar with approx 1000 miles on the unit. The unit is equipped with the standard screen door found on most motorhomes and travel trailers. As you all know, this screen door captures in the solid door when opened and closed. The latch that captures the screen door does not have any adjustment to tighten that capture or prevent the door from rattling in the door frame/jam while driving.
I was wondering has anyone has come up with any unique ways of "quieting" the rattle these screen doors produce while driving. One thought I had was to install some foam weather strip around the screen door jam to absorb the rattle. Any other thoughts? Thanks in advance.

I purchased some self stick foam weather stripping with peel of backing and ran it around between the 2 doors to take up the slack. Worked for my rattling problem.

Rubber feet at the corners also works.

Check and see if you can put foam inside the jamb around the door. It sounds like the door may be rubbing in the jamb while underway.

I used the little plastic stick-on buttons, got them at the office supply store.
They have them in different sizes and thickness. Put them on the door in several spots, when the screen door latches to the door fits nice and tight, no rattles or squeaks.

I use a rubber wedgie door stop between the screen door and the solid one. I put a tether on it so si doesn't get lost.

I hadn't thought about the plastic/rubber stick on buttons. I like that idea. The "hard door" does have 2 rubber feet on the door to dampen the screen door, but the "rattle"(Not squeak) comes from the door jamb. I thinks the rubber buttons will work their.
Thanks,

If you could find a later model dolphin and look at theirs. Like mine they have rubber knobs that hold the door tight when it is against the main door.

I used self stick weather stripping foam on my screen door. I just cut 8 small 1/2 inch long pieces and stuck them to the door at equal places. Stopped all squeaks and rattles.
