We've got these things all thru the trailer and they all want to fall down all the time.. I know that you gotta slide the dark ones up first and then the white ones, but they still slide down by themselves.. How in the heck do you adjust them if ,at all, they are adjustable...With my luck, that's the way they were designed, just to give us more problems than we already have..

Turn the spindle at the bottom a little to tighten up the cords. You'll have to loosen the screw in the center of the spool and be sure to take the same amount up on each side or the bllind will not be level. Then tighten the center screw again. Might take a little experimentation to get it right.

I believe you loosen the screw that holds the little spool to the wall that the cord wraps around. After you loosen the screw wind up each spool with a bit more tension on the cordage. Do each side evenly so that the pleats of the blinds will hang level. after you add more tension to the cords tighten up the screw that holds the spool to the wall a little in order for the tension to stay held. Then your blinds should stay wherever you adjust them to. Mine hold no matter where they are st at on the bumpiest of roads too.

Some have had great success in adjusting them the "traditional way" by tightening the tension on the lines. I've found that the BEST way to adjust them is to REMOVE all attachments and stack them on a shelf in the garage. That's how I adjusted MY poor quality shades and replaced them with mini blinds and drapes.

You will need to loosen the spool with a screw driver and then turn it to tighten the string with a pair of pliers. That's how I adjust mine anyway, sometimes not alot of room but if you work at it you can them tight.

Happy RVing

I'm not sure about changing them 'cuz we upgraded the window mini-blinds to a better quality on our last trailer and weren't too happy with those either.. My only wish about the Day-Nite shades would be that they would be TRUE Day-Nite.. In other words, they need to make the nite part REALLY, REALLY dark to really keep out the sun during the day. The day part is ok as it does shield the inside from a lot of bright daylight and makes for privacy..I took a large piece of that insulated aluminimum material and made covers for the inside of the bedroom windows to keep the lite out and it actually does insulate the windows..(we use our trailer all year round) I used duct tape to fasten them up,but will be re-doing them with velcro before we leave this summer.. I also used it on the pix window in the dinette where there are two smaller windows on the bottom that open keeps a bit of privacy and also insulation.

You make me laugh. We went a step further -- all of ours went in the trash. It was one of the happiest days of my RV life. They were not working anyway. We now have the new MCD Duo Shades everywhere except the front windshield. We love them.
