Hey,

Thank you again for all of you who gave me your advise and opinions on driving a DP last week! You where all spot on regarding the driving techniques of a DP.

Both gas and diesels are totally different animals, but after 300 + miles I can say that I enjoy driving both.

I went from a 2000 30' Ford V-10 Fourwinds Thor Hurricane and drove my 1997 40' Fleetwood American Eagle home this afternoon. It'll need some TLC, but what can you expect for an 11yr old coach.

Does anyone know anything about repairing the spot light on this model? The spot light is gone, but the base is still on the coach.

How do you fine the power compared to the V-10?

At least, at 11 years old, it's already broken in...

Try the mfr's website, there should be an e-mail link, contact them for the name of a dealer near you that might carry the part.

Sorry for the late response, I ended up crashing after my post.

The power in the V-10 is more direct in that it is powering a lighter coach vs the DP utilizes torque to move the much heavier DP. The Jake brakes in the DP are really cool.

Also in my case the V-10s chassis seemed to take heavy cross winds better then the DP at all speeds.

PS; I'll check out Fleetwood's site today thanks...

LUeno -

What did you crash? I hope not your MH or car?

Sorry, I went to sleep! Thanks for your concern, I should have made my self clearer. I had to catch the 6 AM flight to pick up the coach then drove just over 5 hours home.

Whew! Good to hear you went to sleep, and I hope it was in a comfortable bed, not behind the wheel of a MH.

Cheers!

DP's have the engine in the wrong place to help with the winds vs the V-10.
