I searched the forum and found cookies, cookie bars and meat loaf. Does anyone have a casserole, or other recipe, to use oatmeal?

I'm enjoying Steel Cut Oats for breakfast, or sometimes supper. They are different that the oatmeal flakes, I add dried fruit and enjoy.

Why? I want to add oatmeal to my diet, other than breakfast and sweets.

Yep, 1 and 1/2 cups water, pinch of salt, bring to boil, throw in 2/3s cup oatmeal, stir constantly for three minutes, pour on the brown sugar and whipping cream, eat to your hearts content............... If you don't eat it all for breakfast, fry it up for lunch or supper. Have been eating the d--- stuff for almost 70 years.

I love to make crumbles. The recipe uses fresh fruit and the oatmeal with a bit of flour, butter and sugar sprinkled on top...I wonder if a similar crumble topping could be used on baked casseroles instead of bread crumbs. I quickly checked the foodnetwork website and typed in "rolled oats" there is a recipe using rolled oats to coat salmon and another one for lentil burgers...maybe they can give you some ideas on how to add the rolled oats to your regular recipes.

Great idea, kimette! I usually don't eat breakfast, but at grinders suggestion I cooked some oatmeal and topped it with brown sugar, got it too sweet tho.

We are about to hit the road for the year, that's when I eat healthy. During tax season, it's grab something when you can.

Some people eat healthy, me, I like the brown sugar and whipping cream........ Potato and Beef kind of guy. Forgot to mention, you can also put it raw in meat loaf as a filler, sometimes I use rice also.

I make granola with it, and keep in a vacuum seal cannister. I add a couple of Tbsp to my fat free yogurt and blueberries in the morning.

Here's a link to a bunch of meatloaf recipes that use oatmeal as a filler.
