My ducting under the floor had developed a rather annoying low "pop" when the heater is running. It sounds like the heat ducting is expanding and contracting in certain areas, and it happens rythmically about every minute or so, thus rendering sleep impossible. any similar experiences or suggestions?
I have tried proping small blocks of wood just larger than the ducts inside the ducting itself around the registers, but that had little if any help.

Unfortunately the ducting is layed during the floor and RV building process, and theres not a lot that can be done after the fact. And if you try anything that causes the ducts to seperate or punch a hole in the ductwork, your heat is likely going to be redirected away from your living spaces. The A/C ceiling ducts are usually Flexcoil tubing, which is not as likely to make noises.
I found this from a Furnace problem forum, doesn't really help, tho!
"There are different gages of thickness.
If the company that installed your ducts used too thin of a gauge of metal or didn't use cross breaks for stiffening purposes you can get some pretty loud sounds.
Ticking noise is from expansion and contraction of either the ducts or the furnace itself.
There is no common answer for a fix, whatever works!"
The most radical fix I found during my search, was if the noisy area of the duct was located, drill a 1/4" hole in the floor, inject some expanding insulation foam into the area. But as I said, that's kind of a extreme step!
