We have a new Bighorn which came with an Olevia TV. While watching the TV a black box will appear in the middle of the screen. This does not happen everytime we watch the TV. It is very intermittent. Has anyone had this problem and how did you stop this back box from appearing?

Call the dealership where you purchased your Bighorn from and report the problem to them. If its something wrong with the TV and your still under warrany then they should replace it free of charge. If its not under warranty then maybe they can suggest a fix or like us you could replace it with another brand of TV and forget the headaches that will come with dealing with the problems. JMHO

You know, I have a older tube type Television and it does the same thing, not a lot just once in a blue moon. If I change the channal it goes away. I thought at first it was the Cable company doing some programming. But a few days latter it was back. I actually think that is something coming over the cable that isn't be translated into a picture and locks up as box. The sound is fine, just a block box taking up all but 2 inches around the outside of the screen. This thread should be interesting. Bill

What is your signal source? My guess would have been it's just a cheap tv.

The black box is on because you have selected either close captioning or another text option but the program does not have close captioining available. Make sure you have cc turned off. At least, this is what happened to me with another brand of tv.

USA is right...we have a Bighorn with the Olevia TV. When we first got it, it was confusing using the menu, and we too had the same problem. You need to go in and turn off the closed captioning...

Thank you USA. We went into the Closed Caption setup and changed to T1. Could not figure out how to completely turn it off. However, when set to T1 the black box went away. Keeping our fingers crossed that this is a permanent fix.
