Have a question related to outdoor showers. Has anyone run into problems at NPS or SP CG's where using outdoor showers is frowned upon because the water drains into the soil, rather than being collected in some sort of disposal system. Recently stayed in several SP's in Oregon and noticed places for tent campers to dump their dishwater. Didn't see that outdoor showers were prohibited, but they did offer hot showers for free in the CG's.

Do private campgrounds or KOA's allow you to use these outdoor showers? We have never used ours and would like to.

I would think, unless a person would make a huge mess with water flow creating a muddy mess, etc....the campgrounds could not say too much to you, but I am guessing this.
I would wonder why anyone would want to use their outdoor shower in a campground that offered bath-houses? I know many folks have 'problems' using shared bath-houses, so maybe that would be the reason.
We use our outdoor showers only when boon-docking. When we stay in a full facility campground, we use the bath-house.
HAPPY CAMPING!!

Well, one reason would be for dogs. We have 2 - 3 with us at a time, and when they get 'dirty' or hot, we'd like to rinse them off or bathe them, before they come in the TT. We often use a product called 'wipe' on them to keep the flies/mosquitoes etc off of them. It won't harm them, but it has a scent to it that I don't want in my TT. Since most places have signs saying no animals in the bath house, I'd have to do it at the campsite...
Another reason, someone may be in the bathroom IN the TT or left it with a sign indicating to wait 45 mins or an hour before entering, so, you'd shower OUTside...
Another reason: my grey tank fills up too quickly!! Water on the ground is not water in my tank!

Very good points about the doggie issue.
Now that I think of it...there has been times when we have stayed in a CG when my DH rode dirt bikes...and the outside shower really is nice to rinse off his muddy boots, etc. before his heading to the bath-houses for his shower.
Too funny about having to wait 45 mins. to take a shower in your RV and have to resort to having one of your own outside! It is a wonder you would have any hot water left for your shower! LOL.
