As I understand it, the antenna will receive either. Its the TV that makes the distinction between the two and it would require the converter.

This sounds just like the questions back when color TV first came out ... Remember all the "Color" TV antennas? :-D

NO, you don't

With one exception the antennas installed on RV's work fine for Digital

That one exception is the original Winegard "Batwing" style. it's VHF only

If your existing antenna works well on channels 7-69, Well, Digital will be mostly 14-59 with the odd city having some channels on 7-13

These are the ANALOG channels... NOTE that the digital channel need not be the same, for example Digital channel 7 where I'm at is really analog channel forty something (42 I think might be 49)
