We bought a Keystone 2005 Cougar 285 with a polar package and can't find info in paperwork or online that tells us exactly what is included in it.The Keystone website only lists an enclosed underbelly. Does it have heated tanks ???? or anything else

I have a Cougar and I think the Polar package is just a sealed underbelly, and a heater duct directed to it. Thats what I was told by the dealer.

We have the polar package on our cougar and as far as I know the under belly is filled with insulation and enclosed.

Check the brochure that's where they like to brag on all the options on the trailers.

This is what I was told as well. It is a 2" duct according to the construction pictures in the brochure and on their website. We had a 2006 Cougar and found this warmed the floor up nicely. We didn't use it in freezing temps though.

I have the eastern cougar with the enclosed underbelly. I took the panels off because there were more of a pain. I had rodents use the panels to nest in. All that is under there is the panels and a 2 inch heated duct. I live in and travel mostly in the western states so no need for the underbelly. It has been so much easier to add and modify stuff without the panels.

I too was impressed with the term Polar Package. After buying our trailer I found out what it was. It does sound good though. To me it just means that a lot of propane is being used to heat something that I don't need to heat where I camp.

Covered and heated underbelly with 2" duct work from the furnace providing the air to warm the tank/valve area. Very little insulation laying on top of plastic underbelly and no insulation on inside of frame rails. Works well down to about 20ºF if not too windy out, below that and I still get some icing in the line that runs to the kitchen faucet. I took off the 2" line and replaced it with a 3" line that I plug unless I know it is going to get much below freezing at night. You don't need to blow warm air down there if is isn't going to freeze. If it is really going to be cold (<15ºF), I place a small fan under the sink and blow air down into the basement through a small, hinged access cover I made. I have camped down to 5ºF with the current set-up and have not had a problem with ice.
