Hi guys...

I just purchased my first 5er and was wondering everyones opinion on the stabilizing tripod. I started out small (Keystone Hornet 258bh) I already bought "Rotochoks" and from what i understand they do a decent job stabilizing. But with 2 kids and a dog running around, I'd like it as stable as possible....any thoughts are appreciated!

Our unit is a 34' fiver and we've got one. With the tripod underneath the pin-box it helps with the movement you feel when someone is walking throughout the unit. It's an improvement and a stabilizer. That's MHO.

I think the tripod is worthwhile and does a nice job in stabilizing our 5th wheel, although, I usually don't bother setting it up if we're going to be moving on in three days or less. Jack

We also have one and like it when I do set it up. If you consider one, get the one that is aluminum as it is a lot lighter weight to handle. Happy Camping and Welcome.

We got the aluminum one, too. Holds a max of 800# of pin weight.

We have a 28'5ther, just installed JT Strongarms . We are very impressed, two reasons. 1 only install them they stay on the trailer.Dont worry about storing them. 2 only about 40 seconds to set up time!! jim

great for two reasons.

1. helps minimize movement
2. keeps you from cracking your head on the pin box.

My tripod stabilizer does a great job of stopping movement. Plus, it provides some security because it locks to the kingpin cup with a padlock.

If you want to get an idea of what it will do just leave the trailer hooked up to the truck while camping one night. And the tripod should do an even better job since it's stable and the truck has bounce. I haven't got one yet but it's on the list for sure. I notice a big difference when the truck is under the pin vs when it's not.
