I am at a loss as to how to sell it. I will run an ad in the local paper, but that usually brings in all of the guys who want me to put it on consignment, or trade it for a motorcycle (SURE! roll eyes here)
I gather that most folks on here would not recommend Evil Bay...What should I try, RV trader? Good Sam mag??
I could use some suggestions
RV Trader seems to work the best. Just list "please no dealers" and "no trades". Get it in great shape appearance wise and be patient. JMHO
you are correct. I noticed in the paper this morning that there are a lot more RV's for sale than usual. I did not see any dropping in the asking price. someone wanted 12k for a 1986 32 ft class a. I suspect that prices will come down quite a bit.

Most of those "sales" have been on units that had no reserve on them.
I wonder what the success rate really is, or has been, for e-bay sellers on these coaches. Anyone know any stats other than what I have monitored?
God Bless

You would have much better statistics if you monitored pplmotorhomes.com
Now is not the time to buy a new RV i was contemplating buying a newone this feb. at an rv show in NY i already own a class a gas and decided i would hold off on a diesel coach till later on to see what happends with oil going through the roof and new technologies becoming available. Kepp you coach and wait for the next big idea to hit the market, then move in for the kill. At 3.01 for unleaded up the street thats not as bad as the 4.09 for diesel at the same station ill save that extra dollar for college money haha

I have found rvonline.com to be very good for private sellers. It is very easy to navigate and has a great selection. I have also listed my Kountry Aire 5th wheel on it.

When I book out DPs from Ebay the buy it now prices seem to be mostly at high retail.Typically people shop Ebay to get a "killer deal" and not to buy sight unseen for retail.
That is a big AMEN on that statement. I can not believe how far out of touch some of these sellers are. I have seen for an example 2005 Dutch Star 40', where they are asking $245,000.00. I know for a fact I can order a 2009 43' Dutch Aire for $249,000.00, Cash only, No trade. Now I know they price a little high, they can always come down, But are they really trying to sell the unit, or trying to find that sucker. And like you say on E-Bay some of the BUY IT NOW prices are unreal. I quess some private owners, through trade-ins, and not being real a good negotiator, after 3 or 4 years of making payments on the unit they have to get the big price for the unit, because they still owe more than the unit is worth, especially in a down market like we have now. Just my opinion........
