We have 9 days for our season opener trip . We are in MA and wouldnt mind traveling 1.5 day each way to a destination . Thinking maybe south , south west because it should be warmer. Just us and the two dogs.
We were thinking Myrtle Beach ? Heard it was just golf / shopping and beach . We dont golf, dont need to shop and kinda cool for beach .

Any ideas ?

Just south of Myrtle Beach, is Huntington Beach State Park in Murrell's Inlet. Less crowded area, no golf, but a great beach and the campground is pretty nice too. The campground is just a short walk from the beach over the dunes on a boardwalk. We manage to get full hookups, but we go during the winter months. Murrell's Inlet has great restaurants, a marsh walk with live music during their season and cool shops. Although we've not stayed there, just north of Myrtle Beach are dozens of quaint beach areas, but not sure of camping in that part of the southern most area of N.C.

Why not just CC Hop. Alantic city, two days. Cape May, both in NJ. Take the ferry accross the Deleware. Then head west in PA. Unless you all bent on going swiming. There are lots of places to visit for a day or so.

Just so you know I'm not a planner. I enjoy saying lets go to XXXXX and will often just spend one or two nights in any given spot going and coming back. There is just two much to do and see and one location just doesn't seem to cut it. JM2Cents. Bill

Depends on what you like to do. DC is nice this time of the year . Camp at Cherry Hill CG and either drive in or take the Bus right from the CG to the metro. Lot's to see and do. If you're into a longer trip head down to Williamsburg. Busch Gardens, Historic Williamsburg, Virginia Beach, Richmond. It's about an 11-12 hrs trip. Can always take the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway and stop off at the Howe Caverns.....
