The is the shower faucet/manifold in an RVision 2003 Trail-Lite 8263S.

I can't figure out how to take this thing apart. The black base plate seems like it should unlock, but I can't figure it out. It will slide from side to side about an eighth of an inch, but that's all. I can't get behind it without punching a hole in the kitchen. It seems like it will break if I try to pop it off. Any ideas?

There seems to be a leak behind it and I'm hoping its just a loose hose clamp.

The picture thingy times out on me, but if you paste the link below in your address bar, it will bring up a picture of the part.

You will have to access the back of the faucet from other side of the wall. There should be an access panel on the other side of the wall. If not you may have to make one. The the water lines will have pipe fittings that will screw onto the faucet and there will be threaded collars around the hot and cold water connections that can be unscrewed and removed allowing the faucet to be removed from the wall.

All you may need to do is tighten the threaded pipe fittings on the back of the faucet. If it still leaks the faucet may have a cracked of deformed threaded section where the waterlines connect to it.

Yep, you are going to have to get behind the faucet somehow. The water lines are attached behind the faucet. There should be an access panel.

If there is not, then your RV manufacturer was not very thoughtful to say the least, because many times the connections will just come loose from the vibration of the road. You will have to make an access hole if there is not one.

Thanks, on second look, there seems to be a false space on the front edge of the tub wall. It looks like I have to take off the 3" strip of paneling to get to the fittings. Now I just have to figure out how to open edge without destroying all the trim. I'm not very good at this.

Try a putty knife to ease it out some.
