X 2. I spent four hours in an immobile vehicle there in a crashng thunderstorm. At least I had lots of company. Ran up the hill to a gas station to maybe use a restroom. Hah! The thing was fortified and locked from the inside, only unlocked at shift change. Not possible to get in from the outside unless it was unlocked from the inside.

For me, after having many years experience in all kinds of RV's, it would have to be " wind".
Six months ago, we left Las Veeeegas, and hit a cross wind, that moved us from the slow lane to the FAST lane, it was a " constant fight". Some of you that have flown, see if you remember the " bounces up and down cross any desert". This wind was so rough, it tore our Winegard television antenna off the roof of the coach.
Dropping down to 30 miles an hour on a down hill grade, did't help either. Doubled the hours home.

What I really fear the most besides different enviromental factors and drivers who really need some schooling is the trend to embrace ethanol enhanced fuels. This goes back to my youth and sprint car racing when the alcohol fueled cars ran castor oil added to the alcohol( you could smell which cars were on alcohol-by the castor oil ) this was because the alcohol washed away the oil from the cylinder walls and would not dissolve the castor oil which was added to the fuel as a upper cylinder lubricant. I say prove to me that a E85 engine will last 200,000 miles!!!!!!!In my 400hp antique hot rod, even with 10% alcohol there is a dramatic change in performance and fuel economy---feed corn to cows -not my RV or Car. Watch Top Gear on the BBC and see how they talk about the low octane fuel in America--they have 96+ octane pump gas ! I use to search for that for my BSA back in the 80's

My worst fear.. Driveing along, everything going smoothly and approaching an entrance ramp and down the ramp is comming a 28' class "C" that says "Rented from Belchfire RV sales and service" and it's moving at 20 MPH. You just know there's gonna be a problem!!

I am afeared of sudden thunder storms with pounding rain and hail and side gusts that threaten to toss the rig from lane to lane. There is an area between Las Vegas and Los Angeles that is prone to that sort of thing. I worry about finding shelter in time when there are reports of possible tornados whilst travelling in the midwest.
Weather here in SoCal is so predictable and even boring that real weather elsewhere can be scary.

Small cars pulling out in front of me.
I once had a little rat box pull straight out of a gas station in front of me. I remember praying that I would only hit the rear quarter panel and keep from crushing the guy like a bug. With three wheels almost off the ground I turned into the gas station (I couldn't have stopped in time) and missed his rear bumper by inches. Of course, he never looked back not knowing how close he came to being killed.
Now I creep along these "main drags" with one foot on the brake and my wife watching our right side for me.

The other scary thing, drunk rednecks in a friday night who have nothing better to to than to play 'chicken' with me in the RV. The lit cell phone held to the window finally gave the the idea that this game was going to be over soon for them.
Sounds like a lesson in the golded rule......
