Nice job! When we had our '03 KSDP I changed the TV in that one too. I like your install idea a bunch. I think I'll be changing the TV in my folks Tiffin soon and I'll surely look at using your method. In our case I was able to find a TV of almost the exact same size as the existing opening, so no trim work was required.
And I'm sure you'll find the same thing we did; no more TV shake. The 26" LCD we put in was 56 lbs lighter than the flat screen that came out.
There are 24 hours in every day - it all depends on how you choose to use them.

I was going to ask the same thing...those flat panel displays do throw a lot of heat... I think with an LCD he'll be OK. A plasma on the other hand... Well, they seem to get a lot hotter than their flat panel counterparts.
BINGO - Plasmas will get hot while LCDs draw much less energy and do not get near as warm as the Plasmas will - and LCDs might be a tad lighter as well. Regardless of what anyone wants in their home, in an RV when looking for a flat-panel it should be a LCD,imo.

Very good job! The Samsung is also a very good TV choise.
I'm looking forward to the day I can replace my very heavy silver Sony beast with all the squeeks,whistles,rattles---so you were not alone with these problems.

Really nice job. Clever idea to use the rope wood trim on the edge of the plywood. Looks totally pro. Thanks for posting the photos.

Did you use an LCD wall mount to mount the TV or did you build your own?
