We are currently staying here for the second time. When we checked in we were given a site in the front of the park right next to the interstate. Very noisy and windy. We are planning on being here for a month. The park has many pull thru shady spots but we were told nothing else was available. when we protested about being put out front we were told take it or leave it. There are several empty spots throughout the park. This park is occupied with mostly permanent residents and many keep their sites very cluttered. The park itself is neat and well kept. We are dissappointed by the staff at the front desk and the feel of the park. It is not a resort by any means. next time we will find somewhere else to stay.

Agree with you also. Theres not much in the area but I now stay in Burlison or Tree tops in Arlington. I think you would enjoy Burlison as its only 35 min or so south from where you are at. http://www.rv-ranch.com/

Be sure to post your review on some of the RV campground review web sites.

ON A HAPPIER NOTE:

We stayed at Paris Mountain State Park located in Greenville S.C. last weekend and it's a gem in disguise. Very beautiful park and campground with well paved roads, paved sites, and located right in Greenville. Excellent staff and well manicured, Paris Mountain SP is definitely on our "Must Visit Again" list. You can check out the campground and make a reservation at: www.southcarolinaparks.com

Happy camping!!! See ya'll down the road!!!

Also, they charge extra to use WiFi at this park.

Dreamcamper, thanks for giving us the oneup on this campground. Nothing hurts rv parks like bad reviews. And, they deserve it if they don't treat their rvers right. We sure won't stay there.

Unfortunately, if you want FHU and be relatively close to Dallas, this may be the best place. There aren't many choices in that area. We have never had a problem there, but we don't stay over a week.

Another RV park closer to Dallas is Sandy Lake RV park. It's right off I-35 at Sandy Lake Road. Full hookups and fairly nice. We stay there all the time as it's close to the inlaws. Fairly cheap as well.

We keep coming back because of the location, nothing else. We're going to try the KOA in Arlington one of these days, but this place is much closer to the kids which is why we keep putting up with it. However this is far from the worst place we've encountered.

Yes, we visit family in the Denton area and it seems to be the only one convenient with full hook ups. The park is well kept by the grounds staff. It just frustrates us that you cannot reserve a site away from the interstate noise and also that so many of the permanent residents have premium sites. Oh well, I guess they have plenty of business so they can afford to lose a customer or two. We are still here at the park now and the wind is brutal today.
Thanks for all your comments. We might try Hickory Creek COE park next year and forego sewer hook up.
