We just stopped in San Antonio on our way down to Fulton last Feb.
Stayed at the KOA East.
Out front is the bus that takes you right downtown to the Riverwalk.
Take the boat ride and eat at the Riverwalk but don't eat at the Food Court in the Mall. Yuck!!!!

That KOA is secure and has a locked power gate at night. You'll need the code to enter after 9PM. We left our truck at the campground and took the bus.

Did notice signs downtown NOT to leave valuables in your vehicle and that your vehicle is for traveling not storing.

Take the Mission tours. That way you'll find out the "true" history of that area.

Happy trails,

Travellers' World belongs to PA, if you have a membership. KOA has their own membership. Stayed at both. They're great places. I would recommend either one. TW is closer to downtown (10 min) vs. KOA's 30 min. The buses run ON TIME & I've even felt safe riding them at night while alone. Cheaper than parking downtown, that's for sure!

If you like caves, be sure to go to Cascade Caverns. Our family members used to own it. Lots of good memories of family reunions there. We used to have camping but I don't think they do anymore. We used to sleep out under the stars and try to count them.
