Our Norcold 1200 is having door issues. The left door is setting off the open door alarm all the time. You have to push it in extra hard and it now 'clicks' two times when you push it in. Its real annoying as you think its closed then 5 minutes later its beeping.

Anyone had this issue and been able to fix it?

Have the same issue. I adjusted the hinges several times only to have it happen again. I use a lightweight bungy hooked on the shelf and one of the door trays when in motion. Factory swears its a minor door adjustment. I have not had time to bring it in for service.

This is a common problem on that model. There are two things you can do. One is to add some thickness ( tape some cardboard there or something)to the part of the inner door that strikes the switch when door is closed, so the switch will be activated sooner. Secondly, you can remove the lower door support and add a nylon washer under the door hinge. This will raise the door and activate the switch sooner/more fully.

I have taped cardboard, guess its a pretty common thought. I will try to add a nylon washer under the hinge. Thanks

Norcold has a kit for about 12 dollars that you can buy that has new nylon washers and other small parts. It is the "door sag repair kit" that can be ordered. I don't have the part number handy but if you want it, let me know and I will post it when I get home. I bought it to fix the latches not locking all the way and it worked for that problem.

One of the small self-adhesive rubber bumpers for the bottom of small furniture/decorative items is ideal for adding that little bit of thickness that you need to make the switch close sooner.

Here is the kit that I bought. I also included the link to the parts manual for the norcold 12xx series fridge.

Part# is: 625129 KIT- DOOR SAG REPAIR ( LOWER DOORS) If you go to Click here then click on the "parts list" to open the PDF file, it is shown on page 9 Lower RH Door parts list.

Hope this helps you.
