I don't know how to post pictures either but I have some that we took when hubby modified this bike rack. It is the dumbest invention by Keystone but we managed to fit 3 adult bikes and 2 childrens bikes on the rack and have never had a problem. It takes a while to get them on/off but at least they are on there!

I did carry two bikes on the slideout bike rack for the first year we had the Cougar but it was always a "pain" to get bikes on and off. Over the winter I welded a frame that bolts underneath and to the bumper for a 2" receiver hitch. Bought a Swagmann 3 bike rack for the 2" receiver and it is much easier!

I would like to see any pictures also. We just bought a Laredo with the sliding bike rack, and so far it is not obvious to me how to get the bikes on there without hitting the back of the RV, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

does not work perfectly ,better if the handle bars can pivot then strap down however u can .I am going to let warranty expire and mount a reciever hitch for a bike rack or our jon boat. i would say the best thing about the rack is holding STUFF while in the campground!!!!

Takes four hands.
I pull out the support bar the stands up from the platform. Set one bike on with the kick stand towards the rear of the triler. Set the second bike in the opposite direction. While holding that, I put the bar back.
I also drilled 1" holes in the plastic platform so I could get bungie cords around the tires to hold the tires to the platform.
I am not crazy about this setup as the bikes are starting to get a lot of road rash from rubbing against each other.... I too will be looking for ways to install a "normal" rack.

I usually put 3 bikes on facing alternate directions, and use a tie down to slip though all the tires, and around the slide out portion, then do the same for the other tires, then take a 3rd tie down and wrap around the upright bar and through the bike frames.
The real drawback to this rack is that it sticks out there so far, that it is easy to drag it on the ground exiting gas stations and such. I have had to take a wire and loop it through the rubber bumper caps to make sure they stay in place in the event the bumper does drag.
I think Hankpage has a great idea... least that way you can leave the bike rack in the retracted position and not worry about dragging.

We ran into some people from Colorado who had bikes on their Cougar and we were curious as we have yet to use ours. They put the bikes on so that the seats are on the rack(on folded blankets) and the tires in the air. They said they had no problems from Co. to B.C. Now that we have bought bikes I guess we will have to use ours.

I agree with the roof rack option. After I cracked a weld on my rear bumper by using a hitch mounted rack, I just went out and bought a roof rack. That whole slide out bumper thing has been nothing but a pain for me.

I think I posted the imaages of my Keystone bike rack modification. This is my first attempt so if it doesn't work this time, I'll try again. I bought a Swagman Universal bike rack from Overstocks.com. This is the kind of bike rack that is mounted under the trailer hitch ball either on a step bumper or on a receiver hitch. Then I drilled a hole in the middle of the bottom of the square part of the Keystone rack that you would put the little post that came with the rack. Using a 5 inch 5/8 bolt I secured the Swagman rack right there behind the spare tire with the part holding the bikes facing in so that the bikes ride over the platform. This bike rack is very versatile and can be turned either way. As they say a picture is worth a thousand words, so I hope the pictures show up.
