Has anyone converted their low level drain plugs into an outside shower faucet. It doesnt seem like it would be too hard to do.

The drawback to connecting the the low point drain would seem to be no water pressure. It would be gravity only, so you'd only get a dribble

If you are talking about the drain for the fresh tank, I would agree. But the low point drains have pressure when the system is pressurized by pump or city hookup. At least mine do because I got "hosed" the other day when I forgot to turn off the water before draining mine.

For the OP, how do you plan to mix hot an cold to adjust water temp? I would think that if you were going to hook the low point drains to a faucet (which seems do-able), you might as well just buy a couple of t-fittings and some hose and install the faucet permanently.

Hey, what a great idea!

My rig didn't come with an outside shower. Since I mostly winter camp, installing one would just make another weak point for water to freeze on me when camping.

However, with a couple of those quick-connect PEX fittings, I could have an outside water hookup in the summer, yet still be freeze proof in the winter.

Just when I thought I had run out of really cool mods to do...

Sure, It should work fine. On our old rig I put a hose on our cold low level drain and the appropriate fittings so I could flush the black tank when we were boondocking using a blue tank. If you hooked the hot and cold drains to a shower fixture you should have what you need.

Keep thinking outside the box!!!

HUH ???...once the valves are opened the lines are under the same pressure as the rest of the system whether it is pump or hookup!!

The one I saw had two quick connects on the ends of the drain tubes, and flexble lines running to a homemade manifold with hot and cold connectors and faucets (much like in the bathroom sink). I'm sure you could take it to the next level with a standard shower mixer if you wanted....Brian

Speaking from experience, the low pressure lines will be pressurized when you turn the pump on...dewinterizing two weeks ago, I found this out getting a little wet when I turned on the pump (to run lines to clear water) and went outside to let the water out of the lines (forgot to do this before running lines clear). Needless to say, they seem to have as much pressure as my faucets...lol

Low POINT lines. Not LOW_PRESSURE. We don't want to confuse the OP, now!

And what are you going to do for low point drains? It could be a real pain to winterize by draining thru the shower or finding a place for and installing new low point drains. Or you could cut the line and put in a T, real simple.

I have a simple outside kitchen with a small stainless sink. I connected my low points to the faucet and now have hot & cold running water. Now if I could figure a better drain system than a 5 gal pail
