Does anyone know where I can get Hydro Caps for my Trojan T-105 batteries? I hear they will help keep your batteries from gassing during charging. Anyone have any experience with them? I did a search but could not find much information about them.

Hydro caps do not prevent gassing, They encourage the gas (Which is 2 parts hydrogen to one oxygen) to re-form into water and drip back into the battery.

However they do not prevent gassing, Just reduce the effects

wa8yxm - Thanks for that information. I misunderstood. Do you have any idea where I might pick up some Hydro Caps? Seems they are a good idea to me.

Well.. I feed "Hydro caps" to Mr. Google's famous search engine and it replied with some suggestions.. Suggest you do the same.

Also you can check out the better solar houses, they often have them too.

Not as much call for them as there use to be because of the new smart converter/chargers. There is also Battery Water Miser Caps. Both can be found at Wind & Sun

I have something a little different but very convenient. They are watering caps. A hose connects them to a remote location that is easy to get at and when ever I think they need water I just put on the "bulb" and shoot some water in them. They will stop when it is full. I got them at camping world.

I had 34 Trojan 6V batteries for my Solar system. They were in use for 7 years when I took them out of service and de-activated my system for a few years while I was away. I then replaced all of them with new batteries and just recently started up the system again. I now have 34*3 (102) hydrocaps available. They worked fine....only needed to 'top off' the cells once every 7 months.

Mod. Edit Note: A couple of lines of this post have been removed as one of the Forum Rules states: "You may not use the Open Roads Forum for "For Sale" or "Wanted" posts."
