On our local news people in Green Bay Wi said they heard their dresser drawer handles knocking and doors were knocking but that was about it.

We are about 130 miles from the center as the crow flies. I had just let the dog in and turn the lights off to proceed back to bed. Took two steps and bang something shook the house then it got quiet just long enough for me to turn the light back on and another bang and the shaking began. Then I knew it was an earthquake. Lasted about 30 seconds or so here. I think the dog knew something be cause when we came in. Instead of going to the door she wanted me to pick her up and carry her to the house.

Makes you wonder though when you live where there are a lot of caves. Every now and then you hear of a cave collapse, There was A large one in Bowling Green a few years ago where a section of roadway collapsed about 20 feet.

Woke me up around 4:40 am, woke up my 25 year old son also, he thought the roof was going to collapse. Also felt the after shock just a couple of minutes ago.

Every time I feel a quake, which is pretty often in California, I go to Did You Feel It? where the USGS uses the data for research.

We felt it here in Fort Wayne (Far North Eastern Indiana).

I didn't feel shaking but it made noise in the house like STRONG wind hitting the side of the house...

Woke up my 9 year old daughter and she came down at 5:36 and said her bathroom door was shaking from the wind...I didn't know what was going on...

When I went to get my 11 year old daughter and she said her bed was shaking at ~5:30...I turned on the news and saw the news of the quake...

Our puppy was restless ALL NIGHT...we didn't know why...perhaps she sensed something?...don't know...but she generally is dead to the world at night...

joe.

Current info as of 10:23 PDT magnitude 5.2 felt as far away as Atlanta, 607 miles away.

Today is the anniversary of the San Francisco 1906 quake.
